Reviews
AutomobileConsumer ReportsLeast Liked
The interior is decent at best, with storage space galore.
Edmunds.comLeast Liked
Acceleration is adequate, but engine and road noise result in a loud cabin.
Comparison
The Toyota Yaris offers excellent fuel economy and reliability, but overall it trails better economy cars.
New Car Test DriveMost Liked
It is Fuel-efficient, has comfortable ride quality, crisp handling, available sliding and reclining rear seats.
Least Liked
Sluggish off-the-line acceleration with the automatic transmission.
Model ReviewsMost Liked
From their well sculptured exterior lines to the tailored, upscale look of their interiors, little about the Yaris hatchback and sedan suggests the cutting of corners. Around town, the Yaris excels as a runabout, dashing about wherever you need to go, with agile handling and the sort of responsive performance useful in heavy traffic.
One Liner
The Yaris combines the economies of an inexpensive sticker, outstanding fuel mileage and the solid integrity that underlies every Toyota vehicle.
The Toyota Yaris manages to combine a well-tailored, roomy interior with agile performance and a fuel efficient engine in an entry-level car. The front-wheel drive Yaris is available as a hatchback (three-door or five-door) or a four-door sedan; all are offered in a Base trim. The Yaris is powered by a 106 horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission; a four-speed automatic is optional. The hatchback and sedan were designed separately and have subtle interior and exterior differences but have similar standard content. The base trim comes standard with P175/65R14 tires on steel wheels, cloth bucket seats, and manual tilting steering wheel, anti-lock brakes, and six-airbags.For 2010, the S trim has been removed.
